Cheryl has been a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) since 1998.
She is an extremely experienced Motivational Interviewing practitioner, with over twenty year's practice of MI as a core approach. She carries a client load working with:
Cheryl has a particular interest in self-harm and suicide prevention work, and provides critical incident debriefing after major incidents.
In addition to work with couples and individuals on this subject, from 2000 Cheryl was a Lead Associate in ignition's consultancy support to a 'Pathfinder' area of the National Offender Management Service (NOMS) delivering domestic abuse programmes and subsequently to 10 areas of NOMS, delivering the Integrated Domestic Abuse Programme.
She also delivers MI training for the company's domestic abuse work and intervention programme and for ignition's clinical support for Independent Domestic Violence Advocates.
Cheryl has trained MI across many fields including health and criminal justice, since the late 1990s.
She is a visiting lecturer to the University of Wales in counselling and communication, and provides training in communication skills, and working with suicidal or self-harming clients.
