Delivery of the core skills training in MI to G4S staff has shown how accurate Ignition's concept of 'motivational interactions' was when developed in 2003.
Trainees in the group included wing officers, workshop staff and staff with specifc roles such as violence protection. Interestingly all had received training in 'restorative justice', and felt that the skills and approach of MI 'made sense' of what had felt a very scripted and rigid approach with RJ.
