Dr Mark Farrall will be a keynote speaker at the Safer Shropshire Domestic Abuse Conference conference Working with Perpetrators, in September 2015
Jo Berry, conference organiser, said "We want to take a holistic approach to the problem of domestic abuse in Shropshire and indeed across West Mercia. We want to look at the root of the problem, moving beyond seeing domestically abusive men as 'monsters' and towards understanding them as somebody's father or son. The ideas Dr Farrall has put forward, of the continuum of abusive behaviour and a psychotherapeutically informed approach fits very well with our journey."
Dr Farrall will be speaking on how to engage abusive individuals, and drawing on the success of the innovative Strength to Change one to one programme which has been running with great effect in a local authority child protection context for more than three years.
